History of Bethel Baptist Church

1914-2014

May 4, 1914 the first organizational meeting of the First Norwegian Baptist Church was held in the Scandinavian Baptist Church with ten charter members.  The following day they held their first meeting in the home of the Hermansons, 152 Lyle Street.  Isn't it interesting that our pastor of today lives on Lyle Street. Our church really has been a ministry to the neighborhood for 100 years.  Mr. M.A. Meyer was the leader of the newly organized church which met in the homes of the members with an occasional visits by some minister.
